"An isolated forest shrine, once a sacred and maintained space dedicated to the worship of The Buddha, lays seemingly abandoned. However, the monks that once inhabited said shrine became increasingly delusional, as the crushing silence and isolation of their forest home slowly crushed their resolve.
-
The lead monk, in a fevered frenzy denounced The Buddha, and the teachings they so strictly followed. The Buddha was a false prophet, selfish, he did not want others to break the karmic cycle like he did centuries ago. His so called idea of evil was in fact, the true path, hidden through the demonisation of all 'sinful' acts. The lead monk lead a shared psychosis with the other monks, who instead looked upon the three wise monkeys, and bastardised them. As the monkeys hid their senses from evil, the monks would ritually remove their own left hand. So that they, could never shield themselves from the 'evil' of the world.
-
The carved a new shrine behind the old, where the lead monk in his delusional state mummified himself within. Posing as their new symbol of worship, offering their left hands to form a halo behind their leader. The monks have vanished, location unknown, yet nearby villages have noticed their numbers slowly vanishing. Never to be seen again."
